Language Dept is a multi-disciplinary design and branding firm in NY City. We work to define brands—through both strategy and execution—across all touchpoints, from naming to packaging to interactive platforms. We are a small, agile studio, where everyone on the team has a role in shaping the work, as well as the company. We are seeking a Digital-Forward Designer to expand our team's growing digital content and application needs.

Design and create digital and print-based brand content. 
Work collaboratively with designers to brainstorm and storyboard for wireframes and mockups, design with client's needs and input, and communicate with developers to build functioning websites and digital products.
Design and create digital assets for studio portfolio and presentations.
Execute multiple projects at once and meet scheduled deadlines.Work in a group dynamic and actively participate on any given project or team to which assigned.

1-3 years of design experience; agency experience is a plus, but not required.
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Sketch, Zeplin and Invision on MAC computers.
Working knowledge of front-end development (HTML, CSS, JQuery, Javascript, and SASS) and experience working within a CMS. Motion skills a plus.
Excellent grasp of design and layout fundamentals.
Able to work quickly while handling multiple concurrent projects.
An impeccable attention to detail.
Highly organized and self-sufficient with excellent time management skills.
A passion for creating and contributing to systems; ability to thrive in a collaborative environment.

This position typically requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited design program, with digital concentration. Working experience is a bonus, but we are more interested in a candidate's professionalism, passion and collaborative skills.
